Re- Reading this one. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but I love her writing. So many sentences describing situations and emotions stop you in your tracks because they're so recognisable.

Tonight is the first night of trying The Silent Book Club, a book club with a difference. We're not told what book to read and there's no discussion, just a cosy space to read for pleasure and maybe have a chat afterwards.

Not sure about this one - I'm still waiting for it to get going.

Looking forward to reading this one.

Page-turner.

Another novel about a period of history I know nothing about, which is informative and interesting. However, on every single page, there are words relating to Indian culture, customs, dress, that I am unfamiliar with and so I'm continuously looking things up which really disrupts the flow of the story. I want to learn, but footnotes would have been really helpful.

Not loving it. The structure is really odd - jumps ahead and misses huge chunks of the protagonist's life and then randomly goes back and fills in gaps. It's only short though, so I'll keep going.

I'm hooked already!

Loving this. Am reading chunks whenever I can.

Romping through this one.

Loving it, so far.

Wasn't loving this, but maybe I wasn't in the mood, so have paused for now.

This is so much better than the last one I read - excellently drawn characters. A writer who really knows about the complexities of life.

I had high hopes for this one as it had such great reviews, but it's not grabbing me at all. I'm hoping the last third might be better.

Loving this one. Great story and pacey.

Hmm - I get that she's trying to create two distinctive voices, but the writing style is getting a bit annoying tbh. I'm struggling to find an emotional connection with either brother. Could easily give up, but I'll keep going for a bit longer.

I remember this book from when I was 14 and it made a huge impression on me then - I remember sobbing my heart out- so I've managed to get it with the same cover as I remember,
to see how I feel about it now.

Great writing. Really interesting story based on real life events.

Enjoyable so far.

Enjoyable - glad I've moved on from Eve Chase. Racing through this one.

Loving this one.

I really enjoyed the beginning of this book - interesting premise- but a bit bored with it now. Seems hard going. We'll see ...

Brilliant book. Will be in my top 10 ever.

Enjoying it so far. Dawny, think you would like it - witchy 😄

Nearly finished - lovely book - wish I could stop being sociable and finish it tonight 😄
