Wayne Baxter is on page 220 of 371 of Empire of the Summer Moon: Quanah Parker and the Rise and Fall of the Comanches, the Most Powerful Indian Tribe in American History
I remember hearing about Chivington actions at Sand Creek in Multicultural Class in Jr High. However the way teacher taught it you would think that killing peaceful villages and taking grusome trophies were common. When in actuality that, it wasn't.
I love how this book spares no one, whites, indian, or hispanic. Ever one had their gruesome part to play in this war

Its a good read though there are cracks in the shell that will require liberal use of the I Believe button.

The author also brings Alston and Swindapa's relation pretty heavy. The Arnstein don't seem to hit the sack as much as the Kurlelos. My guess unless these blunt hints get dropped throughout the book the reader might forget they're a couple and see them more a sista's.

Wayne Baxter is finished with Absent history: The untold story of Special Branch Operations in Singapore, 1915-1942
I rest it a month and open it again and see what little nuggets stick.

It really is a fascinating read. Never realized how far back and how wide Ho Chi Min's activities went.

Wayne Baxter is on page 94 of 272 of The Ayatollah Begs to Differ: The Paradox of Modern Iran
It real eye opener about the Iranian People. The President and Ayatollah's aren't really in lock step; and other than some cultural differences, like Islam being the predominate religion, the Iranian people are like Americans.

I'll never look at a western the same way again, even Dances with Wolves got it wrong.

Well so far its a pretty good read.

If you're a Browncoat (a fan of the TV series of Firefly)you would enjoy the premise of why people people have elected to sacrafice their children to some gladitorial games, in which they must fight to the death for the sake of the spectacle of it.

I find the description of how the Spanish Mustang found it way from North African to the Americas, and how their introduction affect the developement of different Native Americans people was extremely fascinating.
