Interesting intro. Favorite chapter was "Mice in space", could feel the blood sweat and tears they went through even though I don't particularly have any interest in space related stuff. Skipped the "liftoff" chapter as I was halfway in but still didn't figure out what it was all about

"A true lady lets no ugliness into her life," "only through pain will you have beauty. Only through suffering will you find peace. I wrap, I bind, but you will have the reward."

I remember watching a documentary about food binding when I was young, and I was traumatized to say the least. Very glad that we live in a time where we can say pain is NOT always beauty.

I keep forgetting who Elsbeth is. But when she was gone, it suddenly felt like their world was emptier, as if something was missing.

"Without Elsbeth, none of this is any help." 😭

the cracker packet: I really liked this job for the creativity & how meaningful it is. the mc took inspiration from her colleagues' concerns/problems & turned them into a great idea for her work, which became such a huge success however, the job started consuming too much of her life, eventually giving her anxiety & burnout. w an external threat coming along, it further triggers her to leave & try smth else altogethe

the bus advertising job: liked this less than the surveillance one. I don't really think she enjoyed it as much either. however similar to the surveillance job, her thoughts were filled with work even after working hours; visiting the places they made advertisements for, trying to feed her curiosity on mystery-like incidents that happened even if they were outside her scope of work.

the surveillance job: it really made me laugh at first but things started getting a little creepy afterwards :') got me wondering if it is ever possible to feel watched without being aware of being watched. at one point the protagonist feels a sense of achievement but ultimately decides this job isn't for her (bc creepy!!!)
