Calli is on my last nerves.

Wrinkles nose. This really is just leaving huge gaps of things open. And the world building is a bit...off in some places. Also I hate when a book starts off with a huge secret the author won't tell us (about Calliope's family) and I assume it will be revealed at the end and cause her and the obvious love interest (Beric) to part.

Too much going on for this for me and it's not really coming together yet. Intrigued about knights singing, but it reminds me a bit of another fantasy novel, The Beauty Trials.

This isn’t doing a thing for me. Chapters are way too short and choppy.

And I’m already sad.

I do love how the author is calling out the founding father for owning slaves. After the America 250 crap I was just exhausted about the pretending of America.

I had forgotten some of this. Now onto the secession part of The Confederacy Myth.

They would have been shocked by how much respect and veneration we give to a small minority of fanatical Americans who stole United States property, killed United States soldiers, and attempted to destroy the nation itself.

Hit a reading slump over this one. It really dragged. And the entire collection is pretty uneven. RTC.

I don’t know how I feel about the collection yet. First two stories were just ok. The third was interesting.

Definitely dancing near one star for me. I really wonder why Collins didn't just follow Haymatch after he won the Games. Give us something different. I am beyond bored that it took to page 200 something to even see the start of the Games.

Look if this was the first HG book I be like okay. But this is a prequel that’s not very interesting. I don’t feel connected to people even though we know the names. We see how Haymitch meets Effie and I’m like eh I didn’t need to know this. I’m guessing at Lenore’s connection to a major character in the first prequel and even that doesn’t move me.

Well Snow is still a piece of crap. So there’s that.

I’m curious about who this book is for. I just don’t feel anything since it reads so samey.

Not a bad book but don’t know what plot or thing I’m reading for exactly. Reading how Anna got changed and sent away was interesting. But the present day stuff isn’t that intriguing yet.

Kind of all over the place. I am curious about the second book. I always wonder at making a main character so flawed though.

Otilla is braver than me. I wish I would take a skull and run from a headless skeleton. The illustrations for this was top notch. Great middle school book I would think. I loved books like this when I was around 12.

Well who wants to wake up confused with a woman painting you on nothing? Not me. LOL. Malerman does know how to set a scene.

Still a bit confused on this one, but it now has shifted to 1877.
