I recall the short story that led to this larger book. I don’t know I think the chapters focusing on Mazelle were really well done but I wish we had a better explanation for Scout. The present day chapters were solid but confusing sometimes. I think the ending seems to be setting up more of the same though.

Eh. This wasn’t that great IMHO.

This was so convoluted to the point I didn’t care who did what to whom by the end of it.

Wow. Fantastic.

It took me a bit to get into but I’m enjoying. Parts were confusing but now things are making sense. Just curious how this will end.

Don’t know how to feel yet.

This really didn’t capture the magic of her earlier novels.

Finally getting back to this and not going to lie. It’s missing the magic of her usual novels. I don’t really care about any of the characters and now we have a character who hit a boy with her car on purpose. I’m just like okay then.

Book is still making me cry.

This was so freaking good. I didn’t even get annoyed by the house party and birth scene.

I’m just ready for the dead body to show up.

I forced myself to finish this before I watched the movie. And I’m sorry. This wasn’t good. It dragged. I didn’t understand a blessed thing and I just wanted it to be over quicker than it was.

An interesting premise but the book didn’t work at all. Too many povs, plot was all over the place. And I didn’t really like many of the characters to boot. RTC.

There’s a lot of points of view now and I still don’t get what the keepers are.

I don’t really know what’s going on.

So far grabbing me.

After I got past the part two I’ve been bored reading this memoir. Chang sounds deeply unpleasant and I get he’s relaying all of this as a large mea culpa to people, but it’s not that exciting to read.

This one was a wild ride.
