I do love how the author is calling out the founding father for owning slaves. After the America 250 crap I was just exhausted about the pretending of America.

They would have been shocked by how much respect and veneration we give to a small minority of fanatical Americans who stole United States property, killed United States soldiers, and attempted to destroy the nation itself.

Oh if you can find a copy I recommend Civil War Charlotte by Michael Hardy. Not to totally dox myself, but I live near there and heard so much fascinating stuff I hadn’t known before. Charlotte has this fun habit of demolishing all the buildings once they hit 30, so none of the sites are there anymore except the confederate cemetery, but my dad and I went on a lovely lunch date while I regurgitated facts from the book at him for like 3 whole hours 😂
