Heyyy so long time no see everyone, basically because life has been kicking my ass again. But. Good news. I have a writing project. It's a work in progress. But it's all planned out, start to finish, and some of it is written up.

Basically I'm looking for a writing and/or beta buddy. Requirements will be below in the first comment, but I generally need play-by-play criticism and motivational kicks in the ass.

Real life has been kicking my ass. First I got diagnosed with another mood and personality disorder; then I got fired from my job because I was "too anxious" for retail work. I think, now that I'm unemployed again, I'm going to try to focus on my writing and reading while I job search. I've been brainstorming and I have a good plot for a book I want to write. Now I just have to. Write it. And catch up on reading.

Decided to be bad and read two books at once. Oops, shame on me. *slaps self* But I got approved for this and several other Riptide Publishing titles on NetGalley, so I have lots of reading to do! And Perfect Imperfections is good, it's just not holding my attention at the moment. I need something darker.

Wow I really have not been reading much lately, but that's because I've been preparing for NaNoWriMo and trying to get everything set up for smooth sailing. I also have had a pretty busy work schedule. Oops!

I've heard that this book is super good, so it's time to see if it lives up to the hype. I do like Cardeno C's writing in general, so I'm hoping it ends up being an enjoyable reading experience. I could really use a decent rockstar book right around now.

Well that ending was absolutely, without a doubt, so fucking depressing. Jesus. But the story itself was good, even if it was mostly just sexual tension and one-sided infatuation. I can still dig it. Review to come probably tomorrow.

I should not be so emotionally invested in the quasi-romance of a man and a fish. That being said, this is my first book by Alexis Hall and it's absolutely fantastic. The writing is simply gorgeous. Like. I think I'm struggling with some envy over here.

A huge thank you to the Riptide Publishing company for giving me access to this title via Netgalley! Now let's hope I actually enjoy it. *bites nails*

That epilogue was so unnecessary and cheesy that I banged my head against the headboard of my bed and groaned aloud. Like. Wow. Review to come, and sadly it will not be favorable.

Okay, so. This book needs a lot more fleshing out of the main story and a lot less of the whole "trial" business at the end. Blergh. Not enjoying it very much right now, and like I said before, for a lot of the book I was very creeped out by Lowell. To the point where I almost quit reading. Not such a good reading experience as a whole, which is a shame, since Lisa Henry is like my favorite M/M author.

I don't buy the judge's story for a minute, and in all honesty? I'm starting to get creeped out to the point where I don't know if I want to continue reading this book. I'm usually okay with noncon and dubcon but this book puts a psychological slant on it that makes me super, super uncomfortable, and some of the characters are just super, super gross. Still reading, but possibly not for much longer.

Dear Rory, "I need" is not the same thing as "I want." What you are doing to Tate is rape through and through, especially since you know he underwent some behavior modifications. Sincerely, Me

I decided that after Another Man's Treasure, I should probably see if Lisa Henry's other consent-issue-ridden novel I haven't read, Bliss, is any good. I mean, I'm sure it is. But I'm doing this in the name of, uh, *cough* research. I think I'm going to read a bunch of novels with consent issues and then write a post about it on my blog. So yeah.

Are you kidding me with that ending?! Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. There had better be a sequel to this or I am gonna be so friggin' upset. (On a more rational note, loved the book, the writing, the characters, review to come soon, yadda yadda.)

I only started this about three hours ago, but I'm already 3/4s of the way through the book and I haven't stopped reading once because holy mother of god it's intense. I just finished Chapter 11 and I am freaking out. Like AMT has it all. I love it. Please don't let me down, ending.

I've heard this is a super amazing book and considering I absolutely adore Lisa Henry's novels, I will not be surprised at all if it is. I will, however, be disappointed if it's not. Because let's face it. High expectations going into this one!
