I decided that after Another Man's Treasure, I should probably see if Lisa Henry's other consent-issue-ridden novel I haven't read, Bliss, is any good. I mean, I'm sure it is. But I'm doing this in the name of, uh, *cough* research. I think I'm going to read a bunch of novels with consent issues and then write a post about it on my blog. So yeah.

That epilogue was so unnecessary and cheesy that I banged my head against the headboard of my bed and groaned aloud. Like. Wow. Review to come, and sadly it will not be favorable.

Okay, so. This book needs a lot more fleshing out of the main story and a lot less of the whole "trial" business at the end. Blergh. Not enjoying it very much right now, and like I said before, for a lot of the book I was very creeped out by Lowell. To the point where I almost quit reading. Not such a good reading experience as a whole, which is a shame, since Lisa Henry is like my favorite M/M author.

I don't buy the judge's story for a minute, and in all honesty? I'm starting to get creeped out to the point where I don't know if I want to continue reading this book. I'm usually okay with noncon and dubcon but this book puts a psychological slant on it that makes me super, super uncomfortable, and some of the characters are just super, super gross. Still reading, but possibly not for much longer.

Dear Rory, "I need" is not the same thing as "I want." What you are doing to Tate is rape through and through, especially since you know he underwent some behavior modifications. Sincerely, Me
