I'm liking Solenoid so far, but I've been stuck on this same page for months. I've run out of momentum and this isn't the easiest chapter to get back on the horse.

It has been a while since I've had such an aversion to characters that I've had to put a book down and calm down.

The way Bob is treating and talking about his wife is just unacceptable and it's making me angry.

I am not OK 😭😭

Reading shouldn't be this much of a slog. Ducks isn't bad, but it is in dire need of an editor.

Kind of expecting Anh to pull out a can of whipped cream and be like, "Oh Olive, you should cover your "BOYFRIEND" in this and lick it all off RIGHT NOW IN PUBLIC" at this point 🤣🤣🤣

The "Cosmo quiz" is making me rage.

Making (admittedly non-scientific) assertions about women's overall sexual excitation / inhibition based on 5 EXTREMELY LIMITED criteria?!?!

I just hope women who aren't necessarily turned on by these specific and limited contexts don't feel faulty. Desire is so much more complicated.

Rant over. Hope she diversifies the dialogue further on in the book.

This book is addictive and I can't help but sympathise with the characters.

I was not at all mentally prepared for that chapter. Following on from the story of Asperger, it delved into details about the systematic extermination of children by the Nazi regime and reading about this devastating history has left me heartbroken and speechless.

Wow, I hate young Dalinar.

And now I've reached the "can't put it down" phase...
