Wow so even after tom knows the truth about eve, he STILL says he's glad she isn't audrey, daughter in law of the barretts, aristocrat woman bc that means he "might actually stand a chance with [her]"

AHHHHHHHHH TOM ALREADY FIGURED OUT THAT EVE WAS ACTUALLY EVE DAWSON. HE KNEW NEARLY THE WHOLE TIME YO HANSIJDNDDJ

Sl interesting, from eve's first perspective she felt God abandoned her and yet now she realizes that she had used that as an excuse to go her own way and do what she wanted. "She had turned her back on God. Allowing bitterness and grief to lead her. "

So eve didnt tell lewis about their son, harry. I can get why she didn't, bc she didnt want him to live with that pain and difficulty. It would make things so hard & complicated for his wife & family. He wouldnt be able to have a relationship with harry without confessing to his wife of his affair. Really what an awful circumstance.

YO I LITERALLY JUST GASPED. EVE VISITED LEWIS AND HE TOLD HER THAT HE CONFESSED TO TOM (who eve was starting to love while she's impersonating audrey) THAT HE AND EVE HAD AN AFFAIR DURING THE WAR. YO I LITERALLY GASPED. OH MY GOSH YO

Man this is pretty heartbreaking…I get that Audrey didn't want to go to America and she threw out her visa papers. But it's devastating to see how caring and lovely all of Robert's family and friends are. Like Tom, for example, who is willing to teach Rob's son sports since he no longer has a dad around. It isn't Rob's son and that's so heartbreaking. Also kind of crazy that Tom noticed Harry was redhead like Lewis

Now more than ever I can relate to Eve when she feels like "I've prayed for so many things and God did not deliver, so why should I keep trying to follow his rules and live the way he wants me to and follow after him when it seems like he's either not listening or isn't real or just doesn't care." I'm assuming there will be a happy ending or at least im hoping there will be but I like so far how relatable it feels.

Audiobook. 1 thing – when lewis & Eve slept together, it wasnt super clear so I didn't realize until the next chapter -confusing. Also I like that even though theres flashbacks, it isn't constantly going back-and-forth. The 1st few chapters were present, then a big chunk were flashbacks & now its back to present. So thats nice bc its not so confusing & you dont feel like youre always on edge or having a cliffhanger

WOW! Literally jaw dropped… Wow wow that was so good that flashback. How shocking to see that odile was ready to kill herself the day Lily first entered her house. That was such a shocker. I didnt expect that at all. Absolutely incredible. And I love where she said she wanted to close the chapter finally on her life But then, when Lily comes in, she says it looks like life has given me an epilogue

Wow, I literally can't believe that Odeal just is leaving France and Marion Buck after knowing him two days just to escape everything. I had wondered how things would end with paul!! and how she would meet this soldier in a hospital, but I never would've imagined it would happen like thiswith paul!!, brutalizing, and Margaret disowning her. This was jaw-dropping honestly

Wow, I never thought that paul!! would do something like this to Margaret. I don't know if he just shaved her head or if he killed her? And now that he's manipulating Odeal to marry him after all of that, and obviously not telling her everything… I never ever expected this or saw this coming.

Man i feel sad for paul, hearing how badly he wants to marry odile. And now that Remi is dead, and knowing that she ends up, not marrying, paul!! is all just really sad to me. There are a few mentions of sex, and what not but all closed door pretty much.

Im listening to the audiobook – the French accent is pretty cool. I like the 2 POV'S b/w Lily &Odile. Odile ends up being Lilys old, mysterious neighbor in the 80's (that was shocking to find out). & Odile says at one point she met her husband in a war hospital...so she & paul dont end up tg?? Also is Ms Rita gay??? She said she came to Paris for a love affair and named a madame (female)

Roman thinking he's samuel's father??? Idk- kinda crazy and also unrealistic

Hmmm so roman got his confirmation from the Lord to reach out to Grace (3 ppl needed to mention her on their own in conversation w/ him). He messages her on her business site. He shows up and says he wants to marry her. they hadnt spoken in months but both still were madly in love and couldnt move on? Idk- seems a bit unrealistic?

2 things: chapter 34 was a bit repetitive. I feel like we've heard grace & roman share the same stories just with multiple diff people (specifically ab their childhoods). Secondly, this sudden shift in aunt elizabeth confuses the heck outta me. Is it just bc she now knows samuel is grace's to keep so she isnt afraid anymore to get attached?? Why the sudden change in attitude & kindness she never had before?

Also I will just say like theologically I don't know if the things in this book are super accurate. Particularly the visitation with the angel and like the concept of us having guardian angels idk if that's necessarily correct. And also when Roman died and went to hell like he was being tortured by the demons, but aren't the demons also being tortured? And one of them grabbed his leg and then he had a wound IRL? Idk

I really do love how this author makes it known that the romance/relationship/love we have with one another will always pale in comparison to the love God has for us. She never makes a relationship an idol in these books. She never makes it seem like its the end all, be all. She always points it back to Jesus and His love for us. Its a wonderful reminder

AH ok so roman is meeting with brian henley to ask for advice about grace. She moved out bc they kissed and he basically wanted to be FWB & when she dissed that idea, he asked her to move in. She moved out & quit. He told Jasper and he said when i said settle down, i meant marry her. Call her and apologize. I wonder if he'll gift her that landscape piece as part of his apology

Wow- so roman and grace just had their first kiss. Roman is saved (i think) but not really understanding how a true christian should be. He wants to sleep w/ her before marriage, and grace knows if he kissed her again, she'd be tempted to let him. The author did have brian break up with Grace- he likes shanice & he could see grace is in love with roman. We shall see what the heck happens now

So far I don't love the back & forth with the flashbacks bc it kinda ruins the continuity of the story & makes it hard to stay on the edge of your seat wondering whats going to happen next. But its good obviously to get the background & the context of who the people are. also I feel really bad for Brian and Im very curious how it will play out. I really hope the nice guy doesn't finish last just bc there's no spark.

I just finished....wow. The ending is actually pretty cute. I just kinda hate how young they are. This feels like this should all happen at the maturity level of people in their 20's. Not 17 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

OK fine… The promos part is actually really adorable and I love it a lot

Again, I get the artistic ending and it's like a good way to end it with the project that Miller and Clara did together but this is kind of annoying. Tough to read back-and-forth and it's also just like… Not funny.

Then she says,"I'm always going to have memories of them BC. They were a huge part of my life. But these letters are not my memories of them. They aren't ones I want to know or keep in any capacity". I mean I do totally respect that I probably is for the best, but I just was so curious about what they said.

Man… I totally get the artistic and freeing aspect of Morgan, never reading the letters between Jenny and criss. I get the beauty in her feeling like she doesn't want to ruin their memory by learning more of their horrible past. She said "I know that I loved the best versions of Jenny and criss. But they fell in love with the worst versions of each other – the versions, capable of betrayal, and lies."

I'm really glad that Jonah says to Morgan "I'd give it all back if it meant they didn't have to die. As happy as I am to be with you, I never wanted it to happen this way. I hope you know that" then he says "I'm happy to finally have you, but I also feel guilty because of the way I got you"I think in all of the happiness that they were feeling you almost kind of forgot that they even died. It's kind of crazy.

Also, I have to say… Miller is growing on me. I like that he apologized, and I like that he was honest with Clara about how she had hurt him by using him as a pond to get her mom angry. I respect that about him.
