I’m so excited I got this in the mail today. Devotion rekindled all the old feelings for me, and I’ve been waiting on pins and needles to re-read the sequel. Thank you, K.S., for your incredibly unique works.

Luce is interested in Miles. However, it feels like Miles is just an inconsequential character in the book and will be left behind in the next book, if not before that. The extensive descriptions of the various angels’ wings are weird and seem meant to be erotic, sort of. I’m not sure what to make of them. The way Luce likes it when Daniel’s wings fold around her when they make out is icky.

This book is not unhelpful as a book but it wasn’t what I was looking for. I was looking for a way to develop into a more well-rounded person instead of a single-minded achiever, because I feel like I’m missing out on enjoying life. But this book is about how to shape you into that kind of single-minded achiever. I don’t feel that’s what life is meant to be about and will keep looking for answers elsewhere.
