Between the parents fucking on the lawn in broad daylight and seeing all the innermost thoughts of four hormonal boys this book is oversexed and getting boring. All the boy narratives seem the same and it’s bordering on pedophilic that the author is obsessed with relaying every detail. Why must we be told all this?? What is this book about again?

Might have to table this one. Never kill the dog, are you kidding me???!?! Along with the transphobia and slurs and what will probably be a grievous mishandling of gay characters - this reads like Chabon in his entitled white male author era.

So far these stories are mostly meh. No character building. Just myths, fairytales, abstracts. Modernization for no reason. Hashtags for no reason.

The writing in this book, I’m sorry to say folks, is not good. It takes all the cliche and overdramatic scenes to make writing popular with the American public. Barfaroni.
