I find myself not caring about whatever is happening in this book. There’s no emotional stakes!

“my tea shop is actually a front for dead people to have pseudo-intellectual conversations” - we have a book description! 🥴 There’s no forward movement, no goals. The major thing that just happened is Wallace almost sat in a chair. No really. There is nothing unique or interesting this book has to say.

This is moving so slow. A hundred pages in and I haven’t really been given a reason to be reading this. I haven’t been made to care about the characters. It’s also painfully riddled with cliche. No rich details. Boring. Is the whole book going to take place inside this tea shop??
