The Collin County Historical Society is pleased to partner with the Texas State Historical Association to make Seymour v. Connor's The Peters Colony of Texas available once again. This classic work of Texas history, long out of print, was praised by John H. Jenkins in Basic Texas Books as "the best study of one of the largest land grants in Texas history."

It is getting rough reading his nonsense about Texas. He is making up a lot of silly stuff now......sigh!

I was so surprised that he mentions one of my ancestors by name. my book does not have 1,472 pages. I only have about 330 more to go.

The Comanche were so vicious it is hard to believe. No wonder my ggg grandfather went back to Arkansas every fall as the Comanche's were very active in winter killing and torturing settlers. The story in this book is super horrifying and I have read Indian Depradations in Texas which is a non-fiction book I got at a Fort long ago. Don't read it as you may not be able to sleep.

He is writing about the Neuces Strip. I just read a book about that.

I was amazed to learn that while growing up I was a Campbellite!!! There was a lot squabbling among the underground Methodists, Baptists and Church of Christ. I am flabbergasted as I was directly a part of these conflict of doctrines and never knew it before. My gggrandfather settled on the Brazos river in northern TX so this is of great interest to me.

I never heard the word mestizo before until reading this book. I lived half my life in Tejas.

An unexploded bomb suddenly exploded and 11 women are trapped near the sky light with a fire moving. up the stairs. When I was living in the UK the people we lived around would tell us where all the unexploded bombs were. I remember one that fell in to the creek.

I learned that meat is critical for the brain. So please eat more meat and read this book if you don't believe. Your brain will get damaged if you are a vegetarian which is so popular now. There are several amino acids in meat that the brain REQUIRES in order to be healthy. The body can make most fats and carbs but not these amino acids.

I was flabbergasted that James Michener writes that the Mexicans from the Chihuahua area loved Denver as Denver is very cold and most Mexicans that I knew in San Antonio loved the heat. One of the Mexicans that walked from down in Chihuahua to north of Denver loved Denver. He worked hard for Potato Baumgerger growing sugar beets which are super hard to grow and when the job would end after the harvest he would go to

I really like that she puts down the Mediterranean Diet for these reasons:

2. Too much bread and pasta! I am so glad to read this as I believe bread and pasta are pure poisons!

3. The Med diet encourages the consumption of alcohol which is a poison.
