This feels like way too quick a start, but the chipmunk thing is hilarious, I must say.

Even though I reread this recently, I'm giving the audiobook a listen. I just need something familiar to fall asleep to, I guess.

Carmen Rose is such a *lush* narrator for this book. I'm enchanted. Bedazzled, even.

Since Spotify won’t let me finish Gideon for another few days, we’re returning to a different novel I adore (which no one else seems to get, WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE) in audiobook format to see what new perspectives I can glean from it.

I’m back on my bullshit. I shipped the physical copy I bought up to Alaska with me, BUT Spotify has it as one of their Premium audiobooks, so I’m listening through it for the first time. I’m not a huge fan of the narrator or their choices, but I am appreciating getting yet another perspective on the book’s events and characters.

Finally made it through “Cousin Phillis” after nearly a year in between readings. No fault of Phillis’s, but too many other books and life occurrences took precedence, and will again.

Finally able to return to this one.

We can read a little recreational historical fiction, as a treat~

I’m doing my best to finish this book tonight/tomorrow, and I was all prepared for it to be a slog, but I am legit squee-ing and aw-ing over how cute and sweet this is.

Got all my wisdom teeth out yesterday, so I'm recovering by revisiting comfort reads.

I’m going to take another little break before I dive into “Northanger Abbey”, largely because of all the classicism displayed in “Emma” and how this little line (MILD SPOILERS!) appeared in the second to last page of that novel: “The stain of illegitimacy, unbleached by nobility or wealth, would have been a stain indeed.” <_<

“Emma denied none of it aloud, and agreed to none of it in private.”

*sigh* It just gets worse from here. I've been actively avoiding reading further precisely because I know how much it will hurt and then just keep hurting until the very end. I've been skimming through "Fool's Assassin" instead, but I've reached the point there where the hurts just start to build up, and Hobb really just loves hurting these characters, doesn't she?

Apparently Hobb was working on the next in this series when the pandemic hit, but she may not anymore because there was a disease element she no longer feels is appropriate given the times.

I'm having a hard time mustering enthusiasm to continue when I know where not only this trilogy but the next one with these characters lead. I'm still glad I purchased them, but a lot of my heart was torn out along the way.

I'm really bad at this whole devoting one's self to translating business.

Reading the physical book is such a different experience. I’m halfway through this massive tome, but we spent nearly that entire time just catching up with Fitz and watching him lie to himself and deny what’s right in front of him.

I take it back. I missed Turner’s banter SO MUCH.

I preordered this years before its release, but I’m hesitant to begin reading despite finally having the chance. This series has been with me since eighth grade.

Alana and Dahir are centuries, if not millennia, old, and they can't tell the difference between a vampire actively using his thrall and a human on drugs. Idiots.

Finally able to get back to this now that it's spring break. Going to try to get through as many books on my Currently Reading shelf as possible.

Also, omg, why is Seregil such a self-absorbed ass in this book and the last?
