Reviews will be sporadic or oddly timed (at best) for a couple weeks starting Friday, as I’ll be taking a bucket list trip to Japan and may be too distracted by literally everything around me.

I truly feel like I’ve made it this week - I got an ARC from Viz after years of trying AND somebody clearly took one of my reviews on NetGalley and moved a few words around to pass it off as their own.

There are few books that can immediately insert themselves into my manga pile, but a new Sean Duffy novel is top of that list.

This feels like a direct result of people leaving Goodreads more than any increased effort on my part, but it’s still pretty cool.

Reviews are on hiatus for a bit. I don’t have the heart for it at the moment and we’ll see if that changes at all after I take a breather. I’ll still be rating things, at the very least.

I’m reasonably certain that no seance in the history of the horror genre has ever gone off properly.

I didn’t necessarily set out to start reading a Mexico-based horror novel while on vacation in Mexico, but it has been a very good choice.

I even had Zucaritas for breakfast after seeing them mentioned in the story and then spotting them at the buffet here.
