I went from being a Top 1% Reviewer to a Top 5% this year. Yet I still managed 387 reviews and “enough pages to fill the Marianas Trench” (allegedly). Thanks if you have read even one review, it is appreciated.

This year will be no different, provided I don’t burn myself out. This is, no lie, an expensive hobby, but one that brings me joy and solace and I hope I can spread that joy around.

Reviews will be sporadic or oddly timed (at best) for a couple weeks starting Friday, as I’ll be taking a bucket list trip to Japan and may be too distracted by literally everything around me.

I truly feel like I’ve made it this week - I got an ARC from Viz after years of trying AND somebody clearly took one of my reviews on NetGalley and moved a few words around to pass it off as their own.

There are few books that can immediately insert themselves into my manga pile, but a new Sean Duffy novel is top of that list.

This feels like a direct result of people leaving Goodreads more than any increased effort on my part, but it’s still pretty cool.

Reviews are on hiatus for a bit. I don’t have the heart for it at the moment and we’ll see if that changes at all after I take a breather. I’ll still be rating things, at the very least.

I’m reasonably certain that no seance in the history of the horror genre has ever gone off properly.
