Reading for the second time... with better context.

Interesting premise. Lot of ethical questions. For now, it looks like all the rules and logic of religion bending down to greed and lust.

If you interprete these dreams, blasphemy would be an understatement!

On Part V. I am obsessed by this book. Truly marvelous way of presentation. Need to re-read many parts to get the context.

I was skeptical in the beginning. Somehow liking the flow now.

The names of the kids with detention were announced at every assembly, and I was always one of them. Always. Every single day. It was a running joke. The prefect would say, "Detention for today..." and I would stand up automatically. It was like the Oscars and I was Meryl Streep.

Marvelous! Loving the way each incident is structured with a context.

It becomes easier to pretend to lose memories when you're losing them anyway. Like when you cut onions and cry.

For centuries champagne has been used to launch marriages and ships. Most assume this is because the drink is so intrinsically celebratory; but, in fact, it is used at the onset of these dangerous enterprises because it so capably boosts one's resolve.

History has shown charm to be the final ambition of the leisure class.
