Chagall drew the holy city without any walls because he believed it should be open to all nations.

Good old Chagall must be spinning in his grave!

Many Armenian families live within these walls. In 1340's they came to find safety; Today, its to avoid paying taxes!
Because its on Cathedral grounds, the compound is tax exempt, like every other holy site in Jerusalem.

Its even carved in stone by the entrance:
"Anyone who collects taxes on these grounds shall be damned, and their sons too, and the curse of Allah be upon them."

A light read, not much content... sabbath is confused with Saturday!
Pale in comparison to other graphic novels around Israel-Palestine.

E.T. Read “Footnotes in Gaza” - less known but equally good as “Palestine” - both by Joe Sacco. Also “how to understand Israel in 60 days”.

Gorab Had read in the below order:
1. How to Understand Israel in 60 Days Or Less
2. Jerusalem by Delisle
3. Palestine by Sacco

Picked up Delisle for a 2nd reading now.
Will surely cover Gaza this time.
