I tried to listen to the audiobook while working and I absolutely cannot stand the male voice. He sounds like a smoker with a strange East Coast accent.

Tamika is 30% done with Assata: An Autobiography

I'm having a hard time getting through this. I'm not a big fan of a non- linear timeline, and the childhood stories don't feel anchored or even accurate accounts.

I can't focus on the story because the audiobook voice actor sounds like Snagglepuss. I'll have to switch to reading this, so I don't DNR a book club pick.

I'm truly tired of reading about Soledad's ass! Someone refers to it every other chapter.

Correction: it's a 3rd act breakup.
So, slightly better storytelling than my least favorite trope.

Here comes the 2nd act breakup. I think I've had enough romance for now, because I'm sooooooo tired of this trope.

Tamika is 9% done with The Gardins of Edin

I tried for a second time to read this, but I give up. This might be the earliest DNF I've done. I hate the names, weepy Ruth, and the dramatic twins. There's so much detail written about the estate, but barely anything that makes sense about the plot or characters.
