You know when a specific word gets permanently claimed by one character? Every time I see the word 'dove', my brain instantly goes to Cross Redden. So I was honestly stressed I wouldn't be able to switch gears and focus on Sean and Layla. But it actually works so well! And the fact that he calls her 'little dove' just helps seal the deal. I'm completely locked in now 🤍

Thoughts 💭 Merlin is still sus to me. I don't know what to think of Baron. Is he one of the good guys? Whose side is he on? Prison? Death? WHAT DO YOU MEEEEEAN?!

Caz... the mouth on that man 🫦 I'm so happy to see he truly sees Salem and recognizes her intelligence. Salem's monologue about affection got me a little misty.

Aditi and Baron? Yeah, I'm definitely sensing some tension between them. You can't miss that spark in their scenes. 👀

The tension between Salem & Caz is absolutely insane 🔥 I love how the info is being fed in tiny pieces. It’s like a puzzle I’m dying to solve. Fingers crossed that Aditi is one of the good ones. Salem’s instincts about Merlin feel so on point, and I have a strong feeling he’s involved in all this... but is it really that simple? Diving straight into part two!

I love it when he calls her his little muse

The atmosphere of the book is just incredible! And can we talk about the design? The illustrations, the map, the endpapers... everything is so stunning. It really feels like I’m holding a forgotten relic, and it’s so satisfying to just flip through the pages. 🗝️📜🕯️🌑

Caught off guard by how much that dedication hit me. I'm sooo ready to get lost in this story. 📖✨

Out of all the main characters in the series, I was the least excited to read about Ryan, but his story with Maya is actually so intriguing!

This book has every single ingredient to be a five-star read for me, but it’s just not clicking.

I love that each chapter features a different song at the start! It’s such a nice touch, and it sets the mood perfectly, making every emotional beat hit that much harder.

To be honest, the first 20% had me so confused that I genuinely thought I might DNF it. Then the plot just went off, I got completely hooked, and now I’m trying to make sense of everything together with Emmeline and Roremar. I’m still kinda lost in the worldbuilding and the celestial magic system, but I’m here for the ride.

I love Rhodes family so much, my precious babies 🥹
