Giving this series another try. Samples from later books aren't bugging me like the originals did but I feel I need the background story to fully understand all the characters. So...I shall muddle through.

Was all ready to start WILD COUNTRY when the author's note brought me up short. I realized I should go back a few books to reconnect with the places and the characters as WC is in a contemporary timeline with ETCHED IN BONE. I went back one more book for the set-up for Bennett, the town that is the setting for WC.

What makes a dystopian story compelling is the posibility of it becoming reality. This book has that in spades!

I'm about halfway. Gonna let it sit on the back burner for a bit.

I'm leaving for Denver tomorrow. Why not re-listen to a favorite series set in the Mile-High City. (Will probably have to listen to the Mystery Man and Chaos series while I'm tehre, too. LOL

I love Dmitri. Keira is a handful. But I can no longer read a book from cover to cover. My eyes won't let me. I'm left frustrated, unable to see words after a chapter or two. All other titles in this series are in audio--my preferred method of "reading" these days. What's taking so long to release this one in audio? I'd buy it in a heartbeat and return the library ebook for those still on the wait.

Compelling read--a fascinating grown-up dystopian novel with shades of The Handmaid's Tale but centered on intelligence and "dumbing down" instead of sex/procreation.

The DOG at the vet's! I have one like that. Eve's reaction and then Galahad's when she got home...STILL LAUGHING!

Oh the snark. John Charming might be a new fav, ranking up there with Atticus O'Sullivan of Iron Druid fame. Wonderful snark/tongue-in-cheek listening. FYI, I think the narrator is perfect.

Awesome romantic suspense in this collection!

Yes, I know it's my book but reading it to find good quotes for some memes I want to make. And yes, I still think it's a good book! *wink*
