Great cast of characters. I absolutely love our protagonist. The writing is very emotional and spreads a wide net that has done an excellent job of binding together a lot of different and extremely complex ideas into a single point. I'm especially impressed with how Thomas is portraying Star's PTSD. I have high hopes for an incredible conclusion, but have worries about portrayals of possible stereotypes.

I made it to part II
Which starts with a sudden jump 4 years back in time...
I slept on it. And I think I'm done with this one.
The page count does not justify the investment and the "story" has been 250 pages of non-stop torture and rape. I'm sorry, but Stockholm syndrome is not a compelling basis for a romance! I'm bored and disappointed. Enough with the Lore-splaining already!

almost 1/5 in and almost nothing has happened...

Slightly worried about the Sambo, Jemima, and "at least he's white" character names and comments this early in the book...
