I feel like more should have happened already. I'm smelling a plot that drags us all the way to the cliff :(

Struggling college-student-slash-waitress,

+ a sexy (I guess) dine-and-dash that leaves a lottery ticket behind as an apology (that happens to win her 114 mil),

+ a lovable 6yo niece (who reminds me a little too much of Stewie Griffin, yuck),

+ a good intentioned but idiot sister...

I like the ideas in this book but it's somehow missing the mark.

Does it get better? Both MC's seem like douchebags. I was really looking forward to the Lovibond series but now I'm ready to bail

I love a good San Francisco book that is accurate.

The Bone Witch is p much Memoirs of a Geisha fanfic.

Tea (Chiyo) is sent away with a mentor, Mykaela (Mameha) to live in an ashka-ka (okiya) run by an elderly asha, Mistress Parmina (Granny/Mother). She's made an indentured maid until she's ready to become an apprentice (maiko). She is bullied by other asha/apprentices. She is allowed to be an apprentice at a late stage. Sound familiar?

Read the introduction and The Flounder's Kiss. I don't know most of these authors but I'm excited to be introduced to fresh voices.

A LOT of grammar/spelling issues. So many mix ups of then/than, sense/since, were/where, Windows/windows. Either English isn't the author's first language or they used really cheap dictation software to write this then never proofread
