The foreshadowing in this book is so peak! It's little details that you wouldn't even remember being foreshadowing, but on a re-read, the morsels are so delicious.

I see now why reviews said the first half is not as good as the latter. Showing Scott’s charisma and general likability heavily contrasts our first outsider impression of him, making that initial rando, who called Scott “stinky,” inconsequential and contradictory to the truth: everyone loves him, especially the fans.
