DNF. It’s slow and obnoxious and too clearly a ripoff of A Winter’s Promise (Mirror Visitor series).

Has anyone picked up that this seems a bit of a ripoff from A Winter’s Promise?

Jenn is starting Social Justice Parenting How to Raise Compassionate Anti Racist Justice Minded Kids in an Unjust World
Baxley focuses on parenting strategies to raise compassionate kids—and a lot here aligns with other parenting approaches I’ve read and embraced. What Baxley offers is how those approaches can be used to support raising kids who are also anti-racist and justice-minded, and she offers examples and models for how to do so. Overall, worth reading!

Jenn is starting Pride, Prejudice, and Other Flavors (The Rajes, #1)
DNF at 28%: the pacing is weird, the story unbelievable, overly tragic backstories on nearly every character—and a world famous surgeon would know better than to talk about her patients to everyone who asks, for pete’s sake!!!

Jenn is 47% done with Good and Mad: The Revolutionary Power of Women's Anger
Halfway through, and I can’t stop reading. This book is fascinating and affirming of the simmering rage I’ve been feeling the last few years—but maybe most of my life. The best part so far is where Traister talks about WOC who have so often led the fight for women’s (and others’) rights but the ways their work has been co-opted or ignored.
