This was a retelling of Cinderella from the stepmother’s POV. It’s a really interesting story of survival choices and live (romantic and a mother’s). I recommend.

I enjoyed hearing this author speak last year at MFOB, and I really enjoyed this book, which put Judy Blume’s books into the perspective of the time and place, and gave really interesting insights to what led her to be a frequently banned author.

Cute, and educational!

Apparently John Mulaney has a book club, and this is what he’s recommending.

This was great! It was like Love Island meets the Hunger Games.

I listened to the audiobook. A mother contemplates 3 names for her son, and the book tells abut the life of him, differing on which name it was.

I listened to the audio book, and really enjoyed it.

I will probably not finish reading this cover to cover - But! The vignettes are interesting and insightful and I absolutely love the drawings. I’m glad to have this on my bookshelf.

Colonial midwife investigates a murder.

It seems I am possibly the only person in America that doesn’t like this book. I cannot get into it, despite several attempts. The story is just not grabbing me.

I’m not actually reading this book, added it by accident and cannot figure out how to delete.

Super interesting, with an unchecked “school” lockup, and ghosts! May be disturbing.

This was interesting. It felt like a historical (Americans in Vietnam in the mid-century) slice of life. Like nothing really was happening but it was interesting. But- something was happening. An interesting read I kept thinking about.

I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Meryl Streep. I really liked this a lot. It was kind of low key but very engaging.

This was very fun. A puzzle to solve that kept me guessing. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Super interesting, based on a real woman.

I didn’t like this. It has a basic gambling theme, mistake followed by bigger and bigger mistakes. I should have stopped reading when I saw the references to the Talented Mr. Ripley (not a fan due to said plot). The other part of the plot I saw coming in broad strokes and so this was a meh for me.

I didn’t like this. It was about the grown children of a family like the Turpins, which is a great premise. And the writing was good. I just couldn’t enjoy it.

I really enjoyed this book, which had crime drama and character exploration.
