I'm so in love with Sebastian and how the book is showing that religion can be good (alongside trying to grapple with the obvious harm it can cause) and you can be religious and queer.

Look of course I was going to be all over this book. Queer Jewish kid? Check. Religion? Check. Masterfully crafted characters? Check. I am much more emotionally invested than I expected, help

I hope the plot twist is that every character (except Martin) is gay. Leah and Abby are secretly together. All the boys Simon is eyeing are all gay. Do it, book. Do it.

I was told it would get better but I am still deeply squicked. Why is this so popular??? The only good thing I have to say about this series so far is that it's less boring than the time I tried to read fifty shades for a laugh.

despite the fact that i've only heard heapings of praise on this novel, i'm kind of battling through it? it feels like a slog, which is sad bc i really want to like it! but mostly i'm just yelling 'ARI, UNCLENCH YOUR FISTS' and staring into the void @ how little Legit Gay there's been.

Tbh I wish Emily narrated the whole thing, I find her way more intriguing than Jesse.

I did not expect this book to be so SAD. I expected there to be gay! Where is the gay, so far it is only sad and that's bad because I'm reading it out loud to Zo and I can't do that when my throat's too tight from trying not to cry.

I have a lot of problems with some of Chernow's life choices -- the biases are blatant and uneven, defending Washington's slave ownership while crucifying Burr for possibly owning one -- but it's enjoyable so far. Alexander Hamilton continues to be a fanfiction character and none of this is real, what the heck, the narrative irony is amazing.

This is the cutest, gayest curtain fic ever. I love it but I'm sad it will never follow through on how Marcus and Esca are true love.

Finally back to reading this - we only got a chapter on and stopped because it was so sad. It continues to be extremely gay. When will Fi and ellie make out. Please Marsden.

I'm only reading a chapter of this every time I read it so they I can make it last add long as possible - the writing is that gorgeous.

The intro is dull as dishwater so I skipped to chapter two and it's really good so far. Man, the essenes were so ridiculous, I love it.

I'm loving the chapter on Jewish philosophy, it's a really good, clear summary.
