Em is adorable and sweet. Her innocence is heartwarming. Found this book in the horror section and I guess because she’s a chimp, but definitely not horror.

I’m annoyed and bored. 1 or two misfortunes would’ve been enough in this book. But over and over again with the same tour tires and the same reasoning: Women are for the pleasure of men and we men are not at fault because of nature wouldn’t want us to have these taste we wouldn’t have them and so because we have them that must mean it is what nature wants...just over and over again. 🙄

The stamina of these monks, everyday and multiple times of day!? 😂😂

I don’t know. I feel sorry for her, but also annoyed that she didn’t leave when she could’ve.

Confused at what is going on and upset and annoyed that K doesn’t see what’s so wrong with everything, just the setting itself...ALWAYS CALL A LAWYER!!!

Confused just as much as K is already. What is the definition of arrest in this instance?

Isadora is plain annoying. Doesn’t know what she wants and when everything she believes she wants is in front of her she doesn’t take it. Very annoying character.

I can how this was a shocking book in the time it was written. The fantasies and encounters she has are ok, but what I’m loving is her describing what is expected of a woman. This book was written in the early 70s and as much as we have changed and realized there’s more to a woman than just being a wife and mother, some things she says still apply today.

Finally found the book!

I’ve been looking for this book for ages!!!! It’s disturbing, distorted and beautifully written. It’s really hard to explain what it really is about.

The writing goes way over my head and I know my appreciation for it is nothing compared to what it actually is. At times I’m lost, but I keep reading and have these images of what Is being described. Images that sometimes don’t make sense. BUT then I’ll get to a part that I completely understand and the beauty of it is just incredible!!!! So I guess it’s great so far or at least at certain parts.

Im just happy I can understand most of the writing now.

First four chapter were hard to read I had a dictionary by my side the whole time. BUT once I got to chapter 5 the reading got easier or i suddenly got smarter. I’m sure I missed a lot the first four chapters maybe one day I’ll go back and reread it.

Kenji is pretty convinced, frank is the killer. So far the build up is great. I hope I don't get disappointed at the end.
