My love for these authors and my hate for their book covers are inversely related.

I must have missed something. Why is Catalina suddenly Head of House Baylor instead of Nevada? Should I have read the novella in between books three and four?

I read this 6 years ago and I remember nothing. Absolutely nothing. And reading back my review at the time, I had predicted that I wouldn't remember anything in the future. Still... Nothing? How can it be?

Ok, this is terrible. I am actually shocked at how bad it is considering how many of my friends rated it so highly.

Romancing The Stone meets Lost. I totally expect Desmond to show up any minute now.

I am really enjoying this.

The thing is, Lila is thinking and behaving like any inexperienced 17 year old would (at least in my day) but I just can't stand it. The second hand embarrassment is killing me.

Now we're talking! Bring on the suspense!

I just HATE the "everybody is trying to keep me safe but I am not a child anymore so I'll run away" trope in YA novels.

Lilas' crush on Alex makes me cringe, even though I was the same way when I was seventeen, aeons ago. I just wish the mystery plot would just kick in already.

I am not enjoying this third part as much as the first two books. More accurately, I am not enjoying this, period.

What am I reading? Did I pick up the wrong book? Why am I suddenly in romancelandia?

In hindsight, reading dystopian novels while in quarantine due to a lethal pandemic, was a bad idea.

Yeap, Curran was a complete douche in this one. And the thing that bugged me back when I first read it and now as well... Why the hell was he mad at Kate after the results of the suspect (youknowwho) came up? He was the one that suspected youknowwho in the first place. At least in my copy. Is there another edition where things went down differently? Booo.

I had forgotten what a douche Curran was in this first book... Oh well.

Once more with feeling.

This is nice and all but I'm so tired of Andrea and Raffael fighting like teenagers. I don't even care if they end up together (does anyone?), let's just solve the murder case!

This is great, save for two things. One. Everyone and I mean Every-Bloody-One, is giggling. Not smiling, not smirking, not laughing but giggling. From bad ass soldiers to a Gandalf look alike vampire, everybody is giggling ALL THE TIME. Two. I don't think that "glare" means what the author thinks it means. Glaring with affection, with respect, with admiration, it all just sounds wrong to me. Other than that, go Sam!

Meh.

I remember the the time when I was reading the first 3-4 books of this series. I had to force myself to put them down to do the dishes. With this book however I am just about ready to polish my grandmother's silverware.

*yawn*

I have actually smiled a few times while reading this one and it's taking me by surprise. All I remember from the previous ones is the pain and the suffering. And the gorgeous writing of course, but mostly the pain and the suffering.

I know that she's had a hard life and what not, but Isaboe has been getting on my nerves without fail since 2008.

It's been 5 years since I read "Froi of the Exiles" and I have forgotten all about the 1.578 different characters of these books. Apart from a handful of names I have no freakin' idea who these people are.

Ready for the pain.
