I still enjoyed this third book in the series but I agree it was definitely not on the same level as the first two books in the series which left it feeling like this series sort of fizzled out rather than ending on the high note it deserved. I really loved the first two books and rated them up there with my other YA favourite series in terms of quality.

I've always been puzzled why Susan Ee never seemed to do anything else after she wrote this series. I wonder if she just ran out of ideas?

I read somewhere that this series was supposed to be five books. Maybe she had to squeeze everything in this third book in order to short it down, that is why there is so much going on. That's a good question. Maybe she's writhing under a different pen name?

I wish this series had been 5 books! It was engaging and fun before things fizzled out like they did and it did feel a bit rushed.

I've zero idea what happened to Susan Ee. She just disappeared after the third book got released. She released a new book late last year but it is novella sized. Maybe she made enough money and decided to retire? I think that happened to Partick Rothfuss as well lol.
