Listen it’s the book on the way home from a day trip to the mountains.
The forward by Bobby Orr tells of a tough guy on the rink, but a kind hearted soul outside of hockey. I especially like his telling of courting his wife and the wonderful letters he wrote to her while on the road.

I had a lull in my week where I picked it up and now I can’t stop.

Definitely enjoying this listen.

I’m on a hockey kick thanks to the Olympics. After reading “ The Making of a Miracle”, this book was recommended as a follow up. All my years watching hockey. I learn new things. The history is amazing.

Slow at the beginning and full of cliches, but there is a turn that really gets the story in motion.

Wonderful. It has everything I love. I’m a huge fan of the Guided Age and I am an aspiring writer.

Took me awhile only because life gets in the way. Today, I read the last 100 or so pages and could not put it down. I loved this book. I promised myself I would watch the show after reading the book. Looking forward to it.
