Honestly. I DNF’d. It started out pretty good and now I am 50 pages in, still can’t keep track of the characters and the overall sense of the story. I’ll try it again after I make it through more of my TBR

Dragons have already arrived. I am a happy lady. So far have several characters being set up, interested in how they connect more as the story goes on.

For some reason I still feel like I don’t really know how we got here but like… I am enjoying the book, their banter is 15/10 “I hate you”
Her prose and vocabulary are awesome, the word nerd in me is very excited.

“The only job I’d do for you is hold the sword so you can fall on it”

So far- great world building. I like how she immerses us and gives us details in a way that feels natural and easy to follow. I also really like a great sassy & stabby FMC. Here for her FAFO attitude. Also love a good trials trope- the first one was surprising, and I can’t wait to see what the second one is.
