No more read X books by Y nonsense. I'm going to read at my pace and screw expectations.

Ah. Good to get back into Malazan. I love the tighter focus on fewer? characters this time around. Dark, savage, and hard to pin down who's who with out a wiki. Malazan. How I missed you.

God, I forgot how much a slog the early part of this trilogy was to read. Abercrombie loves his misery. Detailed world mind you, just so dark.

Delightful. Not much to say, but it was good. A bit wonky with how money and power works, but it's a popcorn novel.

So I did a bit of cleaning up to my currently reading list. Kinda had a massive mid year funk.

I'm really loving how easy it is to read this novel. It's so quick and punchy and ties nicely into Scandinavian lore.

I miss the early days of D&D 3rd Edition. It was a heady time I don't think the community will capture again for quite some time.

Man. I forgot how HARD reading this can be at times. It's not a bad book, just very hard to focus on anyone. It's Abercrombie's style. I may have to take a break once finishing it.

Mostly done reading. All that's left is a few notes and monster updates. The system is very meta.

Okay. This book is so very meta. It's like something written by a Christian writer saying God gives super powers! Now people get into costumes...only it's about yogis and people who practice yoga. Taking the authors background, this is going to be a funny ride. And I don't think he meant it to be. (Just FYI, I won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway and I'm thankful for winning.)

It's a fantastic setting and functional system. The crunch is light but the fluff. Oh god the fluff!

I'm doing a group purge. I really only follow updates from 5-7 or so.

Why do people like FATE Core mechanics? I mean, it's interesting but it seems way to meta and narrative and my GURPS raised brain keeps rejecting it.

I've switched gears to focus on a roleplaying game project or 3. But I'll get back to my novel reading soon.

Yay! No longer controlled by the plague! Your hero returns and is able to focus on more than being sick. Seriously, all of March was one bug to another. WTF. And none of it happy reading time because the drugs or virus all messed with my head too much.

Thinking back on it John Saul's Sleepwalk was a great thriller...but is WAY to much like anti-vax hysteria of today. So, conflicted thoughts on it...erm.

So many good books out there these days. Man, it's heaven.

Adopt a Black Cat. If you have been thinking about adopting a feline friend from a shelter, try giving love to a poor black kitten. Black cats are the least likely adopted cats. Shelters can't even give them away the poor babies. This Friday the 13th claim a little fortune by finding your onyx coated lover at a shelter!

Yay! Friday the 13th! It's my awesome day. I don't know about everyone else but 13 is my lucky number and I welcome black cats and broken mirrors. Then again, I've always seemed to find my fortune in the so called 'unlucky' path.

There will be pause on major updates while I take care of a gaming project.

And Exalted 3E gets leaked again...*headdesk*

Ahhhh. Done with Worlds...that book drove me batty. I'm going to bury myself in The Blade Itself to get the bad taste out of my mouth.

The book is tolerable but I have to glaze over parts where the author waxes on like a travel log...and it's not interesting.

Okay. The threat of O'Hara getting killed by her revolutionary friends is interesting. Barely.

Ugh. I'm having a serious brain drain and can't focus on books right now. I'm catching up on my Flash and Arrow TV viewing before AoS season part 2 hits.

I seriously do not want to DNF this book, but it better pick up quick.

Hmmm. Books' getting more interesting. I can see why people don't like it as much. It's a biography really. Journal entries, personal accounts, nabbed recordings.
