I absolutely adore how the future Internet is basically Twitter/X on a billion steroids, with “troll bots” turning people into mindless addicts simply by knowing too much about them. Exploitation of our need to see and be seen to the nth degree.

The names he’s given to futuristic makeup are absolutely killing me. I’m not going to list them here because everyone should arrive at them organically for maximum effect, but suffice to say..🤣🤣💀

The prescient ability of this author, to understand where human nature, technology, and vanity might go in a distant future is pretty damn impressive.

Well, that’s a first. I’ve never gagged while reading something before. 🤣 I love this book.

Daniel Kraus strikes again. I’m having a super hard time putting this down, and an even harder time comprehending his genius to come up with aerotonal space travel.

Also, their ship is disgusting. 😆

Goddamnit, I was supposed to be reading something else and then I read Angel Down and became obsessed and now I’m reading this book and cannot stop once I started the first paragraph, and I’m super jealous and in awe and goddamn you Daniel Kraus.

This book is all tell, very little show and yet it works.

Pretty wild that I picked this book up not having any clue what it was about; it was recommended by two separate bookstagrammars. And lo and behold—it’s set in the same time period as my last book, Angel
Down. The two could not be more different in tone, style, or the natures of the protagonists. It’s like reading the same subject from opposite ends of the spectrum, but definitely gripped me so far.

I just punched the sky and yelled (silently don’t want to scare the child) F YEAH and holy shit and OMG this book. This. Effing. Book. 🤯🤯🤯🤯

I’m going to call it right now: this is the best book I’m going to read in 2026. All y’all other books….game on.

Oh jeez now I want to write romance fanfic for Cyril Bagger because if he doesn’t get a happy ending…😭

… cobwebbed figureheads of futility, pointing future generations down the same useless paths… right after a guy, with grisly detail, is cut exactly in half by shrapnel. This book is a miracle.

This prose is so astonishing….with each “and” paragraph, I wonder if the author didn’t just take each one and decide to craft it impeccably alone— each stanza an island, while at the same time, it feels so effortlessly perfect and natural.

Daniel Kraus, I bow to you
