Granted, I'll probably give this book 3 stars for the awesome Paul Marron by Chris McGrath cover, the fact that I could leave this book unread for weeks at a time and, when I do pick it up again, skip paragraphs at a time does not bode well for this book.

There was a bit of a glow that sowed only when the passage was closed.

Yep, another typo: "sowed" instead of "showed" this time.

"Again, no," Futura replied. "You know the nature of her talent, and that what she says is just a story."

Wait, doesn't the second sentence mean that the speaker is Pastor, *not* Futura, since she doesn't speak of herself in the third person?

"He last track, and didn't realize the stork was on business."

One of many typos. At least I could figure this one out (not "last" but "lost").

I was waiting for a mention of the old Disney cartoon "Gargoyles". :)

That's a LOT yammering about mermaids.

At least the last story was of adults, not YA nor NA.

Ugh, this last story was even more of a slog and I dislike all the characters.

Since I'm currently listening to a Terry Pratchett Discworld audiobook, everything else seems to be weaker by comparison...

Since Leila's spell is in her blood, why is she mingling her blood with Vlad's? Would this affect him or is it NOT contagious, unlike a blood-borne disease?

Why is this version separate from the Paul Marron version? Now it looks like I'm reading two books!

The edition *I* own has Paul Marron on the cover. However, I'm currently reading this as an ebook.

Wait, what? But it's Paul Marron on the cover!

Page 7: waiting until now (page 7) to explain what "ETF" is (Extreme Tactics Force) is a bit much.

Ha to Jonathan! Prescott is going to win Tommy because you were too slow to declare yourself!

Perhaps his father was right after all to attempt to rein him in, since clearly the promise of pearls could lead him so easily astray.

Aha! The correct word this time! The editor got this one right.

"Maybe I do need reigning in."

Gah! My pet peeve: "reign" in place of "rein".

And she ground against him, her limbs shaking and tense with reigned-in lust.

Gah! Nothing pops me out of a book, especially a sex scene, than one of my pet peeves! Rein!

Frankly, after the reveal of the Big Misunderstanding, I haven't been all that interested, even if the cover has a hawt Paul Marron.

Because she did know what a man's hands could do, given free reign of a woman's body.

It's not that this is a DNF but that I managed to misplace this book during the move. I place to finish reading it when I find it again.

Maybe Pete should get a WWJWD (what would Jack Winter do) bracelet or something. Of course, I'd be much more compassionate had I read the previous two books first.

So far:
1. I had thought the male model on the cover is Paul Marron, but now I'm not so sure.
2. I'm ambivalent about this time jumping business. On one hand, it means that the action starts right away. On the other hand, I have to do the work of trying to keep the chronology of events in my head - a bit more work than I'm used to for a work of fiction.

OMG, what an idiot Denise is in this one. Get *someone* else to help if not the vamps. Sheesh.

Denise is Jewish? Didn't see that coming. Interesting though.
