God, I missed you b*tch (affectionate).

This book is lovely so far.

That took an interesting turn.

Also fun fact: my sister was a surrogate twice so I sent her this as a book rec 😂

They’re talking about nothing and everything, all at once.

I made a list of chores I could do today so I got to listen to this audiobook.

What do you mean I have to work and can’t listen to this and do my puzzle all day?

Okay, I’m into this.

I just feel like a classy lady when I read an Ann Patchett novel.

I have the holy trinity for this book (hardback, paperback, audiobook) which means reading whatever version is convenient. I love this for me.

Starting with a Ted Bunny quote...just...I'm in.

George is probably my favorite Carly Fortune hero.

I read while I was one with the couch and it was lovely.

I got sucked in again. This one has considerably less flashbacks than her other books, which I appreciate.

This main character is truly heinous and I’m wishing for her demise but dang if this book isn’t single-handedly getting me all the way out of a reading slump.

I just read a hundred pages in under 24 hours which is a great sign.

I liked the protagonist instantly.

The premise is very cute but it’s losing steam for me.

The children’s backs must hurt from carrying this book.

The doll deaths are so funny.
