Still continues to be a great read. Carter’s cultural criticism is delightful.

This is a fabulous book, a collection of Carter’s writings on many topics, including her own life, literature, travel, and so much more. I only hope I can finish it before the number of renewals I’m allowed by the public library run out.

A veterinarian tells her story of attending veterinary college and her experiences as a practicing vet. She tells us how three particular dogs have influenced her life and what she has learned from them and from other animals and the people in her life.

Inspirational essays on accepting the changes that accompany the aging process with suggestions on how to change one's perspective to see the gifts as well as the losses we experience into old age.

A well-written collection of short stories inspired by paintings by Matisse; so far I'm enjoying reading this book.

So far this rather an amusing story about a young woman's entry by marriage into British society. It's light and easy reading, but I doubt it will be placed on my "to re-read" list here on Goodreads.

I'm so far behind in updating and reviewing all the books I've read over the past couple of months that I don't know how I'm going to catch up! Slowly but surely, I guess. Thanks for your patience with me, friends and group members!

Another library find. This one's a riot. Chapters alternately written by Kerouac and Burroughs, in their typical styles.

This one's gotten better as I've read along. I'd taken a course in Irish literature a long time ago, and the bit of knowledge I picked up is coming back to me.

This one's much better than "Fraud"; once again Brookner's style entrances me.

Got this one out of the library, and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading books about our culture and its weirdness. Good information too about alternative living options, friendship, and much more.

Still reading this one. The library books are interfering, however...

Haven't done much reading of this book in awhile, mainly because I've at last obtained a library card and have reading a great many books from the library instead of those I own. Hope to get back to it soon, though.

This book has been on my to-read list for ages, and surprisingly I found it at my local library. So far this is an excellent read, and I hope to read more books by the same author.

After reading Lenard's "Letters", I was left with some questions; I decided to read this excellent biography to try to find some answers. I did, and now I have to edit my review of the "Letters"!

I'm back on my Max Beerbohm kick, I suppose. I have many of his books in my collection, some of which I'm going to have to sell. This book, was given to me by a co-worker in 1979; it has an inscription to me from her. I can't find out anything about her - if she's still alive or if she's passed away, etc.

This book is a first-person account of Behrman's meetings with Max toward the end of Max's life. Very good.

What an amusing book this is! It's inspired me to read more of Ford's autobiographical books and essays.
