Marnie is reading A Dirty Job
This isn't starting out well. There's a lot of, "har har beta male's can't get laid except by sluts" humor. Will listen a little further but may abandon this one. I don't think I need any more MRA stupidity than the stuff I trip over on the internet.

Marnie is reading A Short History of Nearly Everything
I'm listening to the audio book. Only a few minutes in but I like it. It's a little odd to have an audio book read by a british narrator when the author keeps talking about growing up in the states. A quick googling reveals he lived many years in the UK so perhaps that is why. Either way, I am enjoying it so far.

I am dragging my feet with this book and it's a fricken audio book! I don't even have to flip the pages. It's a good enough story but I have a lot of issues with the writing. I'll try to finish it on my trip to LA

This book is amazing. it's a little bit hard for me to retain this sort of stuff when I'm not actually doing it for real, but I've already started applying little bits of what I've read to my projects.

I am enjoying this but I find some of the writing overwrought and self aware, as though everything has to sound like deep philosophical poetry instead of sounding natural. I also find the women pretty poorly written. But the overall story is captivating.

So far, I love it. I can't wait to spend a bit of time reading it each night. Dawkin's passion for all things biological is infectious.

This book was too heavy to carry with me on my trip and I've put it aside while I read doggy books. So far it is very well done though it's meant more to convince those who aren't convinced of evolution's merits than it is for someone with a dog named darwin. Still good, of course :)

I'm on the fence about even finishing this book. While there is some good advice, she's also insistent on using astrology and the phases of the moon when working with dogs. This is making me a little stabby. Must be the fricken moon phase.

I doesn't tend to give me much confidence when the book starts with recommendations to use aromatherapy to treat dog relationship issues. I hope it gets better from here.

Marnie is reading Something Missing
If you take this book at face value, it's cute but I can't help but find the premise really disturbing. We're talking about a character with no social skills (he thinks that a waitress responding "it's a date" to a customer saying he'll be back the next day, means that they are actually dating) and who goes through strangers' houses and steals from them and we are supposed to find him endearing.
