Interesting so far, but there's something about the writing that is keeping me from full engrossing myself into the story. It may just be a slow start.

I kind of like Tyrion Lannister, and doubt he had a hand in what happened with Bran, as was implied.

I am beginning to see how many have fallen in love with this series.

Have to say I'm loving this book. Not too surprised, since Poison Study was awesome (reminds me, gotta finish that series). Maria V. Snyder has a real talent for storytelling. The worlds and characters she creates are so vivid. Back on topic: I would have to say that so far Belen is my favorite. He's like a big, giant, lovable papa-bear. Or, perhaps, a protective big brother. Either way, he's awesome.

All it took was running out of food, but at least the kid actually started conserving his water. Somewhat.

well, I kinda wanna strangle the MC, but other than that, it's pretty good. :)

so far so good. it's interesting, to say the least.

This supermarket scene is making my inner prepper scream. they should have done all this BEFORE the end of the world! avoid the hassle of chaotic, crazy persons.

Third of the way through, now. I still find the format a bit weird. Can't tell if it's the style of the book, or the MC's apathy (which is entirely understandable, given the circumstance—though were it me, I'd like to think I'd have tried a bit harder to get away), but this book is pretty slow going. Interesting, though. I still have no idea where this story's going, which is good. I like surprises in my plots.
