Interesting read so far, but I think I had it figured out from the beginning. I feel like there is two directions the story can go, but my initial thought feels like where the story is leading. There have been a couple times that I have found myself thinking that something that happened is too convenient or not rational, but it hasn't been too bad up to this point.

I have come to realize that Barnes writes entertaining books, but I can never remember much about her books shortly after I finish them. It makes it difficult to pick up where I left off. Her books make me question my recall abilities, but it's only her books that I seem to have so much trouble with. They are entertaining while reading, just not at all memorable.

Would have been a better book to read closer to Halloween. I liked No Exit from what I can remember. I didn't quite like this one as well. It's a little too quirky at times. I'm sure the author was trying to add humor, but the characters actions and dialogue is a little juvenile and cringe at times. I didn't connect with them and never really became invested in their survival.

Elsie is a little over the top at times, but so far I am entertained.

I always thought Schindler was supposed to be a great guy, a hero. However, in the book he's difficult to like and definitely not a hero. He's portrayed as opportunistic, a philander, and a drunk hustler. In real life he may have done some good. But if this is who he was, he didn't do it for the better good; he did it for his own gain (monetary and to protect his hide when it was all over).
