I was drawn in months ago when I saw the cover and read the premise. Already the book is so good. Beautifully written without being overdescriptive and inaccessible.

Started reading again after a short break yaaay

This book is so good. But the next one doesn't come out until August. Understandable, and yet: I suffer!! But really, I understand...

The language is a little flowery and metaphorical, and it's taking a while to get used to the author's writing style, so the first few pages went slowly. As I was finishing page 15, I realized, "if I just let these words happen to me, I can process them later. Otherwise, I'll be reading far too slowly trying to figure out where we are and what's happening." The pronunciation guide is helpful.

👀 So like... does Shi Mei also like Mo Ran?! And he's just too dumb to figure it out?! HELP

I'm like 99% certain I've read this before... Even though I have no recollection of having read it before

I was certain I had never read this book before, and yet it also seems so familiar. Weird!

The pace picks up! And we got our coffin scene and fake marriage scenes already done in the first half of book one (yay danmei tropes)! Looking forward to reading more ✨

The prose is excellent and makes for smooth reading. Plus, I got a new vocab word from the text: susurration. NICE! Thus far, a funny, intriguing, and irreverent read.

(This book actually has 322 pages, so I did some math to get to 56%)
Super cute book so far! Although the MC's sweetness and generosity is a little much, I enjoy her hardworking nature.

My cat (and caffeine intake) won't let me sleep so now I read! I continue to enjoy reading about these two who are making up the 'rules' of their relationship as they go, with a ton of communication. The "weeb" factors embarrass me a little, but I sell manga for living... I'm a nerd, too, haha. And also, we are all rather embarrassing in our own ways.

Was that a Shimanami Tasogare reference?
