It's just weird word vomit at this point. Author keeps twisting up the MC and I hate what this series has turned into.

I'm not going to be able to finish this. MC was in a coma for 2 weeks and 5 days. My uncle was in a motorcycle wreck and was in a coma about the same amount of time. The dad's reaction? Especially to his son's recovery is so fake it's unreadable. I know artistic liberty and the author doesn't have experience with this but I remember what it's supposed to be like and this? Got to say so far not really impressed. He jams out to his favorite song while hiking, but you don't know what song it is. He has a Japanese top-knot in his hair in modern day, I seriously doubt it. and several other minor things that just don't really work or are just not smoothly written.

a lot of nice little unexpected twists and I'm really enjoying it but I am disappointed that it feels like you have to have read edgedancer and that kind of feels like money-grabbing to me.

nothing like a re-read to make you fall in love with the characters again
