Emma's monologue here is so painfully awkward. It's killing me. I keep having to pause the audiobook every couple of sentences to cringe. Someone please halt this woman's stream of consciousness.

Okay, well, Chapter 12 managed to turn things around. Now I'm on board.

The fact that they're near-total strangers is making the beginning 25% of this story more awkward than I expected. And Harriet's inexperience means they're not having these interactions on equal footing.

Knew it! Been waiting for this reveal since the second book. If it had been any other character I would be disappointed.

Nope, this conversation doesn't fool me. I've known which character it had to be since book two. I don't think it even makes sense that she's not on their list.

This is silly and fast-paced but I'm not sure I'm in the mood for it.

It's been a year and a half since I read the last book. I'm sure I've forgotten a lot, but I do still have a clear guess about the killer's identity.

2.5 stars. I considered DNF'ing around 12% and kept considering it throughout the rest of the book. At 88%, after bumping up the audio to 3x speed to get through it faster, I was still asking myself if I cared enough to continue.
