This isn't off to a very promising start. I wonder if Laurie Gilmore dusted off an old draft of something she wrote prior to the Pumpkin Spice Cafe series? The first chapter was an exposition dump, and there's a lot of telling instead of showing.

I'm getting through this audiobook so slowly but I really like it so far. And the narration is great.

Pausing this one because I don't think I'm in the right mood.

Checked this out from Kindle Unlimited because I wanted something kind of mindless and it is decidedly Not Very Good.

This is so stupid. Nesta gave Feyre information that she is ABSOLUTELY entitled to know. Everyone in this book is emotionally incompetent and bad at logical decisions.

These books are so bizarre. That chapter in the bog was intense, sure, but don't let that distract you from the way Cassian has become Nesta's Pilates instructor.

Emma's monologue here is so painfully awkward. It's killing me. I keep having to pause the audiobook every couple of sentences to cringe. Someone please halt this woman's stream of consciousness.

Okay, well, Chapter 12 managed to turn things around. Now I'm on board.

The fact that they're near-total strangers is making the beginning 25% of this story more awkward than I expected. And Harriet's inexperience means they're not having these interactions on equal footing.
