Why is Ione not far away? And why do I feel her and Elm might get together?

The bromance situation between Storm and Beau is so good, has me cackling and remember I think these moments happened in the second book too. Storm calling Beau sugar is so cute

I’m so invested in this book and in Carrie’s success. The way the author can evoke such strong emotions and palpable excitement is so cool. I feel like I’m waiting with bated breath so see if Carrie can do this and I so desperately want this for her. The book is fiction but it feels so real.

This time around she has more people supporting her. Gwen, her dad being her coach, and Bowe. She does seem more gracious and taking everything in and appreciating all of her improvements and achievements

I love how it feels like I’m right in the midst of the story happening as if it were real. You get such good character and plot development. At this point I’m rooting for Carrie and really want her to win most importantly for herself but also to the world. And you can see the special bond between her dad and her. Very sweet. I like Carries character a lot. Ruthless and so talented and not sorry

Not surprised this book feels so realistic or like a movie, since she’s done that with Evelyn Hugo and daisy jones as well. She’s such a talented storyteller! Such different storylines but all so compelling. Carrie’s no nonsense attitude is refreshingly different.

Please please please don’t be Lucy who for some strange reason have killed Savannah. I doubt it but if she did, it would break my heart and be so strange after them being best friends. I don’t think it was her.

Also this is really reminding me of agggtm. The police not being helpful in the case and the podcast actually being the one to figure it out. Complicated background of the victim and all characters

I feel like it’s giving grown up version of a good girls guide to murder. Also similarities to mad Mabel. As the story unfolds, you see how people made quick judgements and how a lot of people look at least a little suspicious after not being completely truthful about their alibis. Lots of people have secrets they may not want revealed but it changes the narrative. Also a lot of these neighbors are not great

Really enjoying the book so far and the incorporation of the podcast. The little music outro and intro for the podcast is a cool feature and the switch between regular story and podcast episodes are seamless

In the beginning so far and I want to believe Lucy is innocent. It is weird how twice she’s had thoughts about physically harming/killing peoples with objects

This book is so good. It builds upon what was one of my favorite books I’ve had the pleasure of reading. The way Arthur and the kids really come into dad and children is so heartwarming. It also highlights important topics. The government and those in charge are so fearful and don’t know anything about magical beings. They act of fear and it has terrible consequences

I love these characters and this world so much. I keep highlighting quotes, funny dialogue, smart quips, and such wholesome moments. This fictional group of people somehow make me feel such joy and a sense of attachment and love for everyone on the island

The whole birthday scene from the breakfast to the picture frame was too sweet and wholesome!! 😭😭

Very interesting themes. This book seems to advocating for change in their broader world and expanding upon the small environment of just their house and island. Sticking up for magical beings and hoping for change

It’s so good to be in this world again. The writing is so good, found family makes me feel warm and fuzzy. The kiddos are hilarious and unintentionally funny

I love their chemistry and friendship, despite how they seem to not have that much in common. Poppy is so outgoing and loud whereas Alex is quieter but it just works. I love the banter and the inside jokes and how they just get along so well

The writing is a little hard to understand. Like the references to media that I don't understand so it's confusing. It doesn't seem to flow very well right now so hard to get into. The audiobook is nice though because you get to hear parts of the book that are Mandarin phrases

Love that Mabel at least has Cess and Ness who love her and fight for her

The pain of loving and pain of being loved- so poignant, makes me stop and reflect on what has been an emotional book and just rooting for Mabel to feel the kind of love that she has been deprived of her whole life from her parents

I’m so happy Mabel has people like Peter and Daphne. And it’s cute she’s coming around to realizing she likes and cares for Persephone

I like how soft Mabel is on the inside and how endearing it is that she cares for Nugget and Persephone

Similarities to flawless (mean sister, dad owns big company, bull rider)

The writing in these letters is so beautiful and to know he remembers everything!

And roles are reversed!! This time Iris knows who she’s writing too but Roman doesn’t!

As sad as I am about Roman losing his memories, there’s something really sweet and captivating that they get to write to each other again like in the first book

I don’t know if it’s just me but these sisters are way too comfortable talking about such intimate and explicit details to each other

Kelsey’s been such an unlikeable character so far. Reading about what she says to JP actually makes me feel angry

They both are poor communicators and have bad coping mechanisms. Ironic that Kelsey is talking about JP’s bad attitude when for the majority of the book, she’s been so argumentative and mean to him. I still don’t want them to be together. Don’t like books with characters who seem immature, quick to judge, and bad at communicating like this has
