Kelsey is doing too much. The way she speaks poorly of JP seems too extreme. There’s no justification or real reason to be so against him and I don’t have a good first impression of her. At this point I don’t want them to end up together. She’s borderline or even just simply rude to him and I don’t like it

The way the author writes the chapter about the Vegas wedding was so good. The description and the thoughts and explanation of why Evelyn did things was intricately told and show how cunning she was. The whole book has been really enjoyable in the way it’s told with Evelyn going through her life in such detail. There’s love, drama, heartbreak, growth, family all written very well

The authors depiction of grief is so beautifully tragic. They way Ted describes why he could never live in the artists home by himself is easy to understand once he explains. Grief is so complex

Pulling at the heartstrings. Starting to see Ted coming around to Louisa, how they are similar and relaxing why the artist liked her. The beauty of connections and chance meetings. The authors writing is also so good, as he is able to break up serious topics with a little joke or humor that makes it a little better

The details about the significance of the flowers by Joar’s mom about being a touch of tenderness amidst a very violent household and ended up being in the artist's painting is so touching

I love this author. My second book by him and I already like this one too. He has such a distinct way of writing, so talented at depicting the intricacies of relationships and emotions. Takes you on an emotional rollercoaster and reflect about your own life.

“It’s hard to say ‘I love you’ when you’re 14 years old. And completely impossible to dare to whisper: ‘Don’t hurt yourself, because you’d be hurting me too.’"

The spicy content has me full on blushing! It’s so dark and taboo but done in a really talented way. The author does such a good job on making it dark and yet sweet and caring at the same time. Josh treats Aly so well

Pet peeve- she never actually apologizes and says sorry to Caleb. She said some really hurtful things to Caleb and jumped to conclusions and I think he deserves more of an apology than she provided.

Denise being the sole voice of reason. Tash is lucky to have people like her to tell her how crazy and unreasonable she is acting

The underlying hostility Tash has for men was always going to pose a problem for her possibility of a romantic relationship with Caleb. This is yet another reason why it feels these two characters are not right for each other and why I don’t want them to be together.

Tasha’s paragraphs about the need for sexual violence is crazy work. I don’t like how her whole personality both in real like and the book is how she hates men.

“Your audience has waited a long time to get right here.” Trying to parallel the writers story with the book itself, kinda cheesy. And no I haven’t waited a long time to get to this point. Because of the unlikeability of Tash, I wasn’t rooting for them to get together.

Her behavior is feeling immature. He is being professional and trying to set boundaries, which she should appreciate but she’s now holding a grudge against him for it.

And now because he doesn’t understand her undertones and subliminal messaging, she is becoming inappropriately resentful and passive aggressive.

She’s so annoying! For a small period the book was tolerable, but here we go again. Now she’s being so vague and indirect with her feelings. She thinks she’s doing a good job at hinting her feelings about Caleb but it’s not a good job. Why can’t she just tell him? And she didn’t even like him in the beginning! It feels vain. Use your words to tell him exactly how you feel!

Also she’s terrible for being so judgmental about Caleb and saying those mean things about the documentary and jumping to conclusions

Very clunky, unnatural writing. Too descriptive, too many descriptive, almost outdated wording that makes it hard to read cohesively. Tash is infuriating. She is so rude to Caleb and it’s so ironic that she dislikes him so much as a feminist while a big part of his job is to create safe environments for women. I don’t feel very immersed and into the book

Harvey’s the man. Seriously love that he is such a good dad and gives great advice and he’s become a father to Jasper

I love the characters in this book. The found family is top notch. So many funny lines and moments that have me laughing out loud and cackling. Willa and Harvey are hilarious and have no filter which is refreshing. The banter and the closeness between characters is both hilarious and sweet

Harvey is hilarious I forgot how much I like his sense of humor and how he teases his kids. A very sweet and strong father to his kids

Elsie Silver writes amazing men into her stories. The feelings and the romantic gestures and personalities are top tier

This chapter was so cute! The gestures of the Nicholas and Naomi were very sweet! Now I’m enjoying the book more and feeling giddy and happy for them turning a new leaf and being better partners to each other

I like the character development. Naomi realizing her flaws and going out of her way to shovel the driveway because Nicholas is sick. Also the change in heart about wanting to help him shovel the next time it snows. Becoming more like a team and helping each other is sweet. Like not subjecting him to a visit from his mom if she found out he’s sick knowing she would be overbearing.

Nicholas may have his flaws but he’s also really sweet. Just like Naomi has her flaws but I’m starting to see how they could be compatible and really be together

It feels like the shouldn’t be together. Terrible communication, petty, toxic traits, etc. I can’t root for them right now which makes it hard to continue reading. I don’t get why they are together.

Mixed feelings so far. I don’t like the premise of deception, toxicity, and unhealthy communication in a relationship like this one. I don’t empathize with Naomi at all, and I don’t feel like Nicholas is as bad as she paints him. She also reads as a pick me, where she it feels like she’s trying hard to be unique. Too much sarcasm. It’s funny at times but tries too hard to be funny

I was wondering when I’d get to that point where everything would just hit me and it did. The culmination of so many complex, heart wrenching, emotional moments is portrayed so well. It’s devastating.

I’m dying it’s so graphic and awkward and strange and funny all at the same time 😭

Really liking it so far! It reads so effortlessly I feel like I can blink and I’ve read so many pages in a short amount of time. Enjoying the humor- the writing has me giggling and laughing out loud 😄
