Finished this evening, will review tomorrow. Loved it.

The word “pandemic” is on the last line of the first page and, seeing it, I thought, “oh no.” But I’m actually finding this very well written and the Covid of it all is t bothering me (we’ll see if that changes).

Having to put this on hold because there are no paragraphs! Just loooooong blocks of text. Hope I find my concentration soon.

I am finding this very slow and nearly painful. A whole chapter on Marx's late-life research notes where the author talks about his & others' work on an independent project. Could do with less history of Marx's ideas and more about what the degrowth manifesto actually asks.

I got to page 50 and there was a hint that things might start happening. Then I kept reading and struggled so much to stay interested. I find myself skimming pages and skipping whole paragraphs because there is so much superfluous and boring stuff in here. You would think the film references would delight me but it feels like someone showing how smart they are. Shelving this while I decide if I want to keep going.

This has until page 50 to get interesting or I’m out.

I am not really enjoying this or finding it interesting as demonstrated by reading two other books within the first 100 pages, but I'm going to try and press through it as quickly as possible.

This is taking a lot of effort.

Between this and my renewed Bob Dylan playlist I’m going to be the most insufferable person around for the next month.
