Not enjoying this much. Mateo & Embry’s issues are written too enigmatically. No real forward motion to define the plot until 33%. Slow going, almost boring after the first two books.

It would be nice if this was going somewhere. They’ve barely spoken to each other, much less anything else.

I’m finding this whole book disappointing. Two authors who have written excellent character development and intense D/s and kink, Zabo is a major hockey fan and this is the best they could come up with? I’m going to finish because I think there’s some crisis point coming that might add some interest.

I fucking hate bouncing from flashbacks to current and back. There’s enough intrigue to keep me going for now but the memories and internal monologues are annoying.

Not exactly grabbing me. Bray does not seem like a 26 year old military man. Supposedly he could pass for 16 in looks but he also sounds like 16 I sometimes.

I find this opening premise very abrupt and weakly supported.

Ray is incredibly neurotic and annoying.

I have no patience. Darren needs to just admit it and get this story moving along.

Dear self: I told you so. Except the breakup. At least that cliche was missed.

I will tell myself “I told you so” when the bullies retaliate against Adrian and Rory cant face the light to save him and runs always/breaks up. Alternately Rory manages to face light and rescues Adrian and it’s a magical cure.

Very, very, very, very slow burn. Both man-sex virgins, pretty much. Not sure we’ll even get to BJ’s.

Already has two strikes against it. Racist stereotyping & fetishizing and bullying & fat shaming speech.

This setup is so stupid, I almost want to DNF. Except I just quit 2 other books and I hate to be 3 for 3.

This is going nowhere fast.

This feels so slow-moving. Can something energize this please?

Definitely meeting the fluffy, no-angst vibe of the series but this is boring.

I keep stopping, so it makes it worse, but this feels like it’s taking for-fucking-ever to go anywhere and dipshit’s still in complete denial.

Having a hard time sticking with this. Aiden is so fucking annoying. I’m getting impatient to see his ridiculous denial of reality come to an end.

I was really hoping I was closer to the end.

I’m certainly not seeing the substance to make this book so damn long.

They’ve not had a real conversation about anything, not even close to getting together. Not just slow burn, but no burn.

The never ending story. Why was so much wordage necessary?

All this time waiting for them to get somewhere close to a romance and then we get no payoff, no steam. Totally bummed.

This is exhausting, no pun intended. Why is this guy so stupid? I don’t even know why the other dude is still around with all the shit he’s put up with in just a month.

I feel like this book should be closer to 75% done. No real progress, becoming stagnant.
