Another suspense full novel by Kate Quinn. You don't want to like the characters but your so curious she leaves you wanting more. Its a tough read I think.

Well the first chapter was a lot! I almost quit the novel but I remembered the exciting and intense story of The Rose Code novel that I read snothef chapter. I am not disappointed. It's going to be a rough adventure but Kate Quinn sucks you into a whole new world. She switches back & forth between 1915 WW1 and after WW11 1947. An American girl in her 20s & an older woman who was a spy for England.

This is the 8th novel in the A Cat in the Stacks series. This story starts out with the new fill in president of the library banning Charlie's Maine Coon cat Diesel from the library! A gentle cat loved by all! He comes to work with Charlie everyday and is well mannered. Wait until the Southern sister find out about this! (A lovely spin off series). The novel only gets darker as Charlie & Desiel get deep into the mess

The way Kate Quinn writes is like a movie in my head. A movie so intense that almost nothing can distract me. If only I didn"t have to work. I would have read this book from cover to cover in a few days! You will feel like you are flying, crying, laughing through the well developed characters & very detailed descriptions of the geography of several European countries as the story unfolds.

I love this series. This was the first series that introduced me to cozy mysteries. My mom suggested this series to me decades ago and I have read the whole series. Thanks to my local public library and the Inerlibrary Loan program in my province I have been able to read them all (a few of the novels I did buy). The series begins with Joe Grey a cat who realizes he can talk. Over the years he finds more cats who talk

I read the large print novel from my local library. 835 pages of exciting, page turning! We are experience a heat wave in the mid to late 30 degrees but I was determined to finish this novel! It was so worth it! If you hage a stack of books to read this summer, wait, read The Rose Code first! I see why this book was read last year at a book club through my library. Its exciting to talk about.

I really enjoyed this novel. It was more of an adventure then I thought it would be! Lots of twists and turns in the mystery of who killed the greedy man who was buying up Amish businesses in Ohio. I also love Nutmeg! I love the name too.

Page #605 Large Print Text:"It's ridiculous to think that shooting our enemies is a nobler or more effective part of the fight than decrypting their battle plans. We might fight with paper &pencil, but that doesn't make it less of a fight".

You will hope, you will laugh, you will cry happy & sad tears but most of all you will only be getting a glimpse of what WW11 looked and felt like for a few main fictional characters during the war in England. learned new historical information about Enigmas used in many different languages by our enemies & I assume ourselves, English language (being Canadian with Great Britian heritage).

A real turn pager! I can hardly put the book down. I am enjoying the mysery as it unfolds. I am understanding a bit of how the war affected the code breaks which is similar to other people trying to fight the war too. Kate Quinn is an excellent writer. I am learning a lot from her novel as she has researched it. I know its a work of fiction but its really good!
