2.7-8.7 or maybe I just stopped at 14% the same day I started it. It has gotten too formulaic.

Am roughly halfway into my re-read, and am enjoying the book just as much as the first time, for different reasons. Have forgotten nearly 90% of the whole thing in 11 years, and only remember bits and pieces and a couple of key scenes.
Not a huge fan of the narrator, personally.

I am TRYING to get through this book but it is NOT FOR ME. And the hashtags are annoying. The social media part of it is just completely not my thing.

Dunno when exactly I stopped this but I think it was the day after starting. Or same day. Something like that. Exactly a third in, not 30%.

I'm gonna DNF this book at 24%.
It is painful to listen to both the author and especially the narrator butcher the "definitely not Nordic winkwink" in every single sentence. Names, places, creatures, it's all yuck.

90-90% Is this the day I finally come out of reading-hiatus and start finishing books again? It's been two months.

It's been about a week since I paused again. Unsure if it should be marked 80% instead of 90, but I can't be bothered to check. I don't like the last third as much as the start.

Started this on a whim, and maaaan am I glad I brought the whole trilogy with me on vacation! This is, so far, just what I've missed for the past year, in this genre of fantasy.

Apparently I went on hiatus 90-91% in, not 60.
Maybe now I can finish it.

I really like these books, and I especially love the first half of this one.

Gonna be a freaking struggle to get through this one. All the badly added in Norse is a pain, and the narrator makes it 100% worse. I can barely recognize half the terms, and the other half tends to be used wrongly, or sounds gramatically awful.

I started hating the last quarter of the book. The last couple chapters are quite redeeming, though. And I kinda like the ending. It's solid.

This note should have happened yesterday when I dropped the hiatus and started listening again.

Note to self, started yesterday around 2am, so move date 1 back. Will probably finish today. Had thought I had already read it, so this was a "re-read to check if I remembered anything" which turned into "I guess this is my first read".

Aight, it's time to finish this one. It's short; It's time.

I just wish something would happen. Anything. Even the book ending.

This one is going on immediate hiatus, and I am not sure I'll pick it back up again. Not what I thought it would be, and not in the mood for it.

Only got 20 minutes left but am stopping for the night. Was gonna finish the whole book in a day but am too tired. Also, I solved all but two twist mysteries really early on, but that's ok and did not make the story bad. I quite like the directions, though I would reeeeeeally like more worldbuilding (outside the island) and what that's like.

This update (62%) should have been added on Nov 22nd. It's been on full hiatus since then.

Did not know the genres of this book. Knew pretty much nothing, going into it. Really liked part 1 but am still not feeling part 2.

The start was rough, but the academy-school chapters are more interesting and entertaining.

This is the second time this week SJM has given me a sentence like that (about eye contact, too) that makes no sense.

I managed a few more hours of audio yesterday, but my god does the book DRAG in the last quarter. I'll probably finish it soon, but I am not looking forward to it. Note to self, maybe it'll be four stars this time.
