Chptr 33. Very well done. MC goes back in time, details blurry i need to read the novel. A lot of intrigue and I'm worried about the family.

Chpt 20. Includes a nice touch of humor. Dark undertones told with a very light hand.

Momo and the cats are so cute!! Not gonna lie, skipping over some of the technical Shogi playing and matches 😊

Much as i love Essie and Farrendel, there is too much of their story here and therefore does disservice to Melantha and Rharreth. Melantha needed a redemption arc and she's given so few pages it feels like we're just skimming. These two had so much potential i wish they had their own book and book five could have been Farrendels recovery.

Chpt 53. I think if there was no teaser Ep 0 i would have given up. But the anticipation and wanting to get to that point is keeping me engaged. I really wish we had more of the eventual love interest though

Gorgeous illustrations of dark, twisted adult fairytales. The author starts the reader off easy, with Ayama, a wonderful heroine and a happy ending. The Too-Clever Fox left me pondering real life implications and by the time I read The Witch of Duva I was wondering what the twist was :)

Hmm. Not sure about this one. I can understand wanting to rebel but taking actions that get other people killed or punished seems naive. And having a hero that beats/whips the heroine? I realize it's the culture but it leaves me with an uncomfortable feeling. Strangely though I feel like reading more, lol.

Hmm, I think the author had a thesaurus for synonyms by her laptop as she wrote this book. Everything is described using at least two adjectives and many sentences are repeated using synonyms. I'm not sure I have the patience to continue. Plus the book seems to have switched from a romance to a world battle to achieve peace plot.

What did I get myself into? Two chapters done and both have horrible things happen. Hope this is just setting up character motivations and not the precedent!

So far interesting. Just as Sophie was driving me crazy with her self-fulfilling prophecy behaviour she gets a reverse make-over :)
