So, the narrator is much older than the 20-something main characters. It makes it seem like one of their moms is telling their story. And with the way they check each other out…that’s kinda creepy.

Oof - the fake southern U.S. accent in the first hour and a half is horrible. Might not be able to finish, it’s *that* annoying.

I normally love to listen to an author read their book aloud! But this is not the case with this audiobook. The author’s garbled diction is actually taking quite a lot away from the story. Some voices just weren’t meant for narration. I follow him on IG and love his witty posts, so it makes me sad to not enjoy this book. It would be much better to read it traditionally.

First things first, Killer was a Yorkie in Book 1, you can’t just change him to a Pomeranian in Book 2! Consistency, please! The author made small changes like this in the beginning of her Tourist Trap series as well.

I think I have to abandon this audiobook. The vocal fry of the female narrator is AWFUL. I don’t think I can put up with another 6 hours of this. Every time it’s her chapter, I pause and steel myself for the most annoying voice ever. Such a disservice to the story.
